It won’t usually be looked at as the best game in the arena of gaming, but keno has millions of devout supporters. And so it should! It’s a regularly exciting lotto-esque game that’s easy to master, readily available in a number of alternate formats, and one that will pay out millions for those who master its numerous subtle intricacies. But let’s begin with the beginner’s rules for now.
When defining keno to amateurs, some gaming masters compare it to bingo. This is at least nearly apt, in that each game is basically numerical. Yet to take that comparison too far is likely to be to underrate the endless unique aspect that make keno so interesting. Unlike bingo, keno enthusiasts have the power to select the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a grand total of eighty numbers, but the gambler is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to pick as many (or as few) numbers as she needs. And it doesn’t take a super genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all your handpicked numbers with a ordinarypen like you had when you were a kid.
After you’ve marked your numbers, take the card back to the clerk at the keno stand. The person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) expensive bit of paper! Even if the clerk remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket with you, you will collect precisely $.00 for your winning card.
OK, so there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno slip. Let’s move on to something a little bit more useful, ok?
Now that you’ve picked your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and see the action take place on the monitor. This is where the winning numbers show up for us. If you checked winning numbers, mark your card accordingly. Be sure not to dally, or sit there congratulating yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You need to get back to the keno booth to redeem your winnings, and then a new keno game will surely get going within a few minutes.
Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno booth on time!
Since you can’t trust yourself to make that five-minute deadline every time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the same set of your selected numbers on anywhere from two to 20 tickets. When the maximum number of games (fitting the amount of tickets) is finished, you can then get off your lazy back side and go redeem your winnings.
Still another option is recognized as a "stray and play" keno slip, which commonly lets you make number choices for thirty games or more. Hell, you can take vacation to Greece and not have to get uptight about getting back in time to get your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after purchase!
And now you know a number of indispensable schemes for winning keno. If you are an adept gambler, they might appear to be incredibly obvious. However, it doesn’t hurt to study up on the basics, and if you are a newbie gambler, every little bit of advice will help make your keno gambling more exciting.
