It might not usually be seen as the most lucrative game in the realm of wagering, but keno has millions of zealous followers. Why wouldn’t it? It’s a routinely thrilling lottery-esque game that’s a breeze to pickup, readily available in loads of alternate styles, and one that might yield millions for those who learn its uncounted subtle nuances. But let’s start with the basics for now.
When defining keno to newbies, some gambling connoisseurs compare it to bingo. This is at least to a certain degree apt, in that both games are generally numerical. Yet to carry that comparison too far is likely to be to minimize the great many unique characteristics that make keno so interesting. Unlike bingo, keno players have the freedom to select the numbers for each card.
Keno cards have a total of 80 numbers, but the user is granted an extra degree of personal responsibility by being able to decide on as many (or as few) numbers as he needs. And it doesn’t take a super genius to come up with how to fill out a card: all you do is circle or otherwise mark all of your selected numbers with a normalpen like you used when you were in school.
Once you’ve marked your numbers, take your game card back to the keno pit manager at the keno stand. The nice person will record your numbers and then give you a receipt. Don’t misplace this (potentially) expensive piece of paper! Even if the keno pit manager remembers your loud shirt and wants help out, without a winning ticket in hand, you will get exactly $.00 for your efforts.
So, there you have strategy number one: always take care to keep your keno receipt. Let us move to something a bit more complex, yes?
Once you’ve selected your numbers, get yourself into a nice keno booth and watch the action take place on the video monitor. That is where the winning numbers show up for us. If you have winners, mark your card aptly. Be sure not to take too much time, or sit there praising yourself for an obnoxious length of time. You want to get up to the keno booth to collect your winnings, and a new keno game will surely start up within 5 minutes.
Strategy number 2: always make sure to get back to the keno stand on time!
Since you don’t trust yourself to make that 5 minute deadline each time, you always have the option of buying a "multi-race" ticket. These include the very same set of your chosen numbers on anywhere from 2 to twenty tickets. When the max number of games (fitting the number of tickets) is finished, you can then get off your lazy butt and go redeem your winnings.
Still another option is known as a "stray and play" keno card, which generally allows you make number picks for thirty keno rounds or more. Heck, you can take vacation to Italy and not have to worry about getting back in time to redeem your numbers. Most "stray and play" cards are good for up to a whole year after it’s bought!
So now you know several needed schemes for winning keno. If you are an adept player, they may seem very obvious. Still, it won’t hurt to brush up on the basics, and if you are a beginner keno player, every tiny bit of information will help make your keno games more fun.
